The actuator is the core component at the base of the shaft that presses the microswitches. By altering its diameter, you instantly change the travel distance of the lever:

The wider the diameter (15.6mm), the smaller the deadzone. Directions activate with minimal hand movement, maximizing execution speed.
The narrower the diameter (15.0mm), the more traditional the travel, offering better control to prevent accidental diagonal inputs.
