The IST Alpha N Lever (sometimes called the Alpha Lever N) is a premium Korean-style joystick (K-lever) designed by the Korean manufacturer IST Mall.

It stands as a heavily upgraded and corrected version of the popular Alpha 49S.

While most mass-market sticks use injection-molded plastic, which is often prone to minor warping or thickness variations, the Alpha N’s body is crafted with an ultra-strict tolerance of ±0.01 mm using computer numerical control (MCT machining).

Design & Material Specifications

Chassis & Manufacturing: High-grade body machined from a solid block of smooth Delrin (acetal). It stands out visually with its signature green top plate and red central bobbin.
Shaft: Features a 7.25 mm diameter shaft, allowing traditional shaft spin, a tactile sensation highly sought after by certain Korean players.
Microswitches: Equipped out of the box with Omron V-152-3A5 microswitches, which are highly responsive and validated by pro players.
Grommet Tension: Ships by default with a blue IST 35A silicone rubber grommet, offering a medium-to-firm tension that is ideal for a fast return to neutral.
Modular Actuators: The lever comes with two interchangeable actuator sizes: a standard 15.5 mm model and an alternate 15.3 mm model to fine-tune the switch engagement distance.
Collar: Mid-collar (short collar) version that fits seamlessly through standard 24mm holes on Japanese-style arcade sticks.

In-Game Performance & Feel

Optimized for Tekken (3D Games): This is its primary specialty. The high-precision machining virtually eliminates asymmetrical deadzones, making rotation inputs and signature techniques like the Electric Wind God Fist (EWGF) or wave dashes significantly smoother to execute.
Throw and Diagonals: It features a medium-to-long throw. By default, the diagonal zones are relatively tight, requiring precise execution. For 2D games like Street Fighter, using the larger 15.5 mm actuator is highly recommended to broaden the diagonal input windows.
Corner Precision: Once mastered, the specific switch spacing alignment (around 15.7 mm) allows for exceptionally clean and strict corner locking during gameplay.

Fightstick Compatibility & Integration

Compact Footprint: Unlike larger, bulky Korean levers (such as the Sanjuks V7), the Alpha N’s Delrin block is remarkably compact. It fits easily into slim / low-profile fightstick cases.
Mounting Plate: Features a multi-mount plate compatible with standard Sanwa-style mounting layouts.
Wiring: As with any K-lever utilizing independent microswitches, installing it into a commercial fightstick requires a 5-pin to 8-pin conversion cable.
