The IST Fujin III Lever (also known as the Fujin V3) is a high-end Korean-style joystick designed by the renowned modder Airbaguy and produced by IST Mall.
Directly derived from the legendary Myoungshin Fanta housing, it incorporates numerous structural modifications engineered for high performance in 3D fighting games like Tekken.
 
1. Design and Stability
  • PCB Support Plate (Bottom Switch Plate): This is the major signature feature of the Fujin III. Instead of suffering from the manufacturing variances common in standard plastic housings, the microswitches sit flat, stabilized, and firmly screwed down. This eliminates any play and ensures perfectly consistent activations.
  • Premium Material: Precision machined (MCT cutting) using high-strength acetal plastic to maximize durability and reduce friction.
 
2. Shaft and Neutral Zone
  • Shaft: The initial version is equipped with a thin 7 mm shaft. Version B, the most common variant, features a shaft widened by 0,8 mm, which slightly reduces the turning radius to replicate the feel of the very first Fujin lever at Airbaguy's request.
  • In-Game Feel: It features a relatively wide neutral zone, large diagonal zones, and a fast, crisp return to center. It is highly favored for wavedashing and the fluid movement styles characteristic of Tekken.
  • Bat Top: It comes with a distinctive frosted white bat top handle.
  
3. Tension and Components
  • High Tension: The lever uses an internal rubber grommet providing a base tension of 45 (considered medium-high to high), ideal for players who prefer an instant snap-back to the center. Note that Samducksa (Crown) grommets are not compatible.
  • Microswitches: Mounted with Gersung switches (The GSM-V1623A3), which are appreciated for their clicky and precise feel.
 
4. Housing Versions and Compatibility
Two physical variants of this lever exist to suit different setups:
  • Full Collar (Standard): Requires a 35 mm hole on the arcade stick, typical for pure Korean configurations.
  • Mid-Collar (2-Stage Version): A more recent variation with a mid-high collar compatible with standard 25 mm holes. This allows for easy installation in most commercial arcade sticks without drilling the housing (such as Hori, Qanba, Mad Catz, or Razer).
